As Vice President of Human Resources, Gaye’s top priority is to support Blach’s employees while maintaining and enhancing the company’s unique culture. She is also responsible for recruiting great people, professional training and career development, medical/other benefits programs and working to ensure employee satisfaction and overall company success.
Since Gaye joined the company, it has been voted by its employees as one of the top 10 best places to work in the Bay Area in the annual survey conducted by the San Francisco Business Times and Silicon Valley Business Journal. In addition, the company was named to Fortune Magazine’s national Great Workplaces list. While she would never take responsibility for these achievements, it is her passion, expertise and leadership that has enhanced the Blach culture and elevated employee morale, all during one of the most challenging economic downturns in history.
Gaye began her career in human resources in 1980, with a UK-based public accounting firm. In 1986, she moved into strategic human resource management for two leading Silicon Valley technology companies, and later, founded her own successful HR consulting practice. In 2008, Gaye joined Blach as the Director of Human Resources.
Gaye earned her B.A. with Honors in Political Science from the University of East Anglia and later a post-graduate diploma in Human Resources Management. Gaye is president emeritus of the Board of Directors for the Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose and also serves on the Board of Trustees at Presentation High School. In 2013, Gaye was a recipient of the YWCA of Silicon Valley's Tribute to Women in Industry (TWIN) award, and in 2014, she received one of the Silicon Valley Business Journal's '100 Women of Influence' awards.
