San Jose, California – April 20, 2017 – Blach Construction Company is pleased to announce it was named in the top 10 of the 2017 “Best Places to Work” in the Bay Area, placing 9th in the mid-sized employer category. “Best Places to Work” is an annual award presented jointly by the San Francisco Business Times and the Silicon Valley Business Journal. Blach is the only general contractor to have ranked consistently among the Top 10 for the last nine years.
“At Blach Construction, our primary goal is to nurture an environment that is highly committed to our clients, our community and most of all, our employees,” said Mike Blach, president and CEO of Blach. “Winning this employee-nominated award – and consistently being ranked in the top 10 year-after-year – is enormously rewarding. The vote of confidence displayed by our employees is remarkable.”
Companies earn the “Best Places to Work” award as a result of an employee survey designed to evaluate and rank employers across five value-oriented categories: fun, collaborative culture, solid compensation and benefits offerings and other amenities, including good management practices. Since 2009, Blach has ranked as a Top 10 company for establishing an exceptional workplace that its 150 employees value greatly. The official results have been published in the April 21st edition of both papers and may be viewed online as well.
“Being named one of the top 'Best Places to Work' by our employees is something we don’t take for granted, especially in today’s thriving Bay Area,” said Gaye Landau-Leonard, Blach’s vice president of human resources. “A company is only as good as its team and we pride ourselves on the caliber of talent that makes up ours. The results of this anonymous survey continue to underscore how engaged our employees are in creating and reinforcing the culture that is Blach Construction – truly one of the ‘Best Places to Work’ in the Bay Area.”
About 2017 “Best Places to Work”
“Best Places to Work” is an innovative publication and awards program produced by the San Francisco Business Times and the Silicon Valley Business Journal. The rankings were determined by surveys that went directly to employees who answered a series of questions. The survey was administered online by the employers through a service provided by research partner, Quantum Workplace, that scored rankings numerically. By ranking companies and sharing best practices, we facilitate idea sharing and help other companies learn from the best.
