Santa Clara, Calif. – (September 27, 2013) – Blach Construction Company, a commercial building contractor and construction manager serving Northern California, the Central Coast and Sacramento, has performed $82 million in program management, construction management and general contracting services for multiple clients during the summer of 2013. These projects consisted primarily of renovation work at multiple K-12 school districts, including work at Oak Grove, San Jose Unified, Millbrae, Belmont-Redwood Shores, Milpitas Unified, Salinas City Elementary, Pajaro Valley Unified and Fremont Union High School Districts. In addition, Blach performed projects at Santa Clara University, Via Services, St. Josephs School and Mission San Juan Bautista. Project highlights include:

Oak Grove School District, San Jose, CA
Blach recently completed modernization work at 11 sites throughout the District, including switch gear replacement, HVAC replacement, low voltage upgrades, HVAC installation, boiler and chiller replacement, portable demolition and security upgrades. Summer total: $2.4 million

Millbrae School District, Millbrae, CA
The Blach team performed a complete upgrade for electrical and lighting fixtures as well as new finishes at Taylor Middle School, Green Hills Elementary School and Lomita Park Elementary School. Summer total: $6.9 million

Belmont-Redwood Shores School District, Belmont, CA
During the summer, schools throughout this District have undergone extensive modernizations.  This work includes a $6 million modernization at Nesbit and Fox Schools, a $12 million complete modernization at Central and Cipriani Schools, a $3.3 million modernization and the addition of a new modular building at Sandpiper Elementary School, and a $7.2 million remodel of a 54-room classroom building at Ralston Middle School in addition to sitework. Summer total: $28.5 million 

Pajaro Valley Unified School District (CM + LLB), Watsonville, CA
Blach removed the aging swimming pool at Pacific Grove High School and constructed a new 25 yard by 25 meter replacement, an associated pool deck and an equipment room, totaling 6,500 s.f.. The majority of the work for this project has been completed during the summer. The team used on-site soil to re-compact the concrete walls as the old swimming pool had been backfilled with drain rock.  Summer total: $2 million

Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, CA
Blach renovated Santa Clara University (SCU)’s 50-year-old kitchen, office space and staff facilities with $1 million in top-of-the-line equipment.  Additionally, Blach performed $500,000 of high voltage electrical upgrades to the Benson Center, the University’s main dining center, as a part of SCU’s plan to bring all buildings onto the new internal power grid.  Blach also completely replaced the building’s loading dock. Summer total: $5.2 million
