Santa Clara, Calif. – (February 5, 2014) - Blach Construction recently completed a significant tenant improvement and build-out for Mayfield Fund, a 45-year old venture capital firm, in Menlo Park.
This project entailed the renovation and build-out of an 11,300 square-foot existing warm shell building in the center of the active Quadrus campus on Sand Hill Road.
Blach teamed with design firm Hawley Peterson Snyder to complete this project with the goal of creating a contemporary and collaborative space that would meet Mayfield Fund’s needs today and well into the future.
Starting with the concept of an oak tree to connect two floors, the space includes a metaphorical millwork oak tree to create an open and airy space with full-height wood-framed office fronts, textured dichroic glass, and natural tone finishes. The office was also constructed to be flexible to host small and large groups comfortably through the use of full height operable glass doors that open to the exterior patio.
“Blach was instrumental in helping us build a space that was designed to feel professional and welcoming. They have always been great partners to work with and this project was no exception. They were reliable and flexible while exceeding our expectations,” said James Beck, Mayfield Fund Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director.
