Paso Robles, Calif. – (February 29, 2016) Cuesta College’s North County and San Luis Obispo campuses will receive two new buildings this year as part of Measure L, the College’s $275 million bond measure passed by voters in November 2014.
To kick off these projects, Blach Construction Company recently began preparatory work on both campuses to make way for the construction of a new campus center and classroom building. Six large modular buildings on Cuesta College’s North County campus in Paso Robles, Calif. are being dismantled and will be replaced with a 43,000 sq.ft. campus center.
The new center will house a variety of student services, including counseling, admissions, records and financial aid, and will also include a cafeteria, bookstore, health center and space for student life. Construction of the new campus center is scheduled to begin this spring and is expected to complete in the fall of 2017. Blach Construction Company is serving as construction manager for the College and is collaborating with PMSM Architects of San Luis Obispo, Calif.
Construction of a new instructional center on the San Luis Obispo campus will also begin this spring. This 32,000 sq.ft. building will feature multiple classrooms, offices and other teaching spaces and is expected to complete in the fall of 2017.
